A few eye witness reports on The Pink Floyd Project.
Translations: PFP press center

”An orgy of colours and music”
One of those great nights. Copenhagen based Pink Floyd Project had the guts to go for the throat. Luckily. They were achingly faithful towards the original versions and yet entirely themselves at the centre of a complex show. It was more than merely good music. It was three hours in paradise.
Anne Mette Busch, Nordjyske, Dark Side Tour 07, The Aalborg Hall, November 2007

Never in my entire life have I caught myself standing next to a middle aged suburban lady who’s reciting lyrics for a full hour caressed by green lasers and probably situated somewhere beyond the dark side of the moon.
Simon Staun, Fyens Stiftstidende, Dark Side Tour 07, Posten in Odense, October 2007

”Three hours in rock heaven”
Pink Floyd Project gave our town Vejle the rock experience of the year last night. No expenses spared. Floods of lasers in every colour imaginable. Films and photos constantly comment on the songs. And live sound that can’t be bettered. Tonight Pink Floyd Project takes off again. Take the chance if you missed out on them last night.
Erik Andresen, Vejle Amts Folkeblad, Dark Side Tour 07, Musikhuset in Vejle, October 2007

”It just doesn’t get much better than this”
No wonder that Pink Floyd Project have a reputation as probably the best tribute band in Denmark. Friday night saw them begin their new tour of Denmark in a sold-out Mantziussalen. Did I mention that I was impressed?
Jesper Pedersen, Birkerød Weekly, reviewing the opening night of the Dark Side Tour 07, October 2007

”Seduced on a journey through sound and lights”
We are being led along many beautiful and complicated paths through Speak To Me, Breathe, On The Run and Time before the show climaxes with The Great Gig In The Sky.
If Pink Floyd is your thing, you must seek out the many Pink Floyd Project shows on their current tour. You get the original sound and a light show that brings you very close to the holistic experience a Pink Floyd concert used to be.
Erik Damsager, Arbejderen, reviewing the opening night of the Dark Side Tour 07, October 2007

The stage was a sight to behold. A setting that would make the original creators of The Wall pink with envy. The result was an orgy of perfect sound, lights and sensuality that crept right under the skin and that deserves all the critics’ marks available. Strong vocal and instrumental work brought forth powerful images, memories and emotions. The show was nothing but peak performances and highlights.
Peter Rasmussen, The Messenger, The Wall in Haderslev, August 2007.

What a setting. What a show. What sensuality. I doubt that any of the 4.000 people in the audiences even thought about the fact that the ten Copenhagen musicians are a covers band.
It was particularly impressive how loyal the band managed to stay to the original. What a pity for those who bought tickets for Joe Cocker’s show nearby.
Flemming Just, The Jutland Wectcoast Daily, The Wall in Haderslev, August 2007.

GAFFA (Denmark’s leading rock monthly, ed.) has a policy of not reviewing covers bands. But I would have liked to review this totally unique band performing at the Jelling and Nibe Festivals. They really made my neck hairs stand on end. Pink Floyd Project consists of 10 sublimely skilled and ambitious musicians who play Pink Floyd from the heart in the finest possible way with attention to detail and impressive stage productions. Don’t miss out on this band when they perform in your area.
Troels Frøkjær, GAFFA, private blog, July 2007.

The Pink Floyd Project show did not live up to my expectations. In a great way! Normally, cover bands invite scepticism but the 10 piece Pink Floyd Project deserves nothing but praise. The jubilee show (number 100) added to the occasion and the band/audience interplay was fantastic. If the editor will accept “Wow!” as this review’s headline I’m happy. It pretty much sums up the experience.
Allan Rørsanger, Arbejderen, June 2007.

Thank you for the greatest musical experience last night at Amager Bio. This show was simply the best of the eight I’ve witnessed so far - with last year’s The Wall coming in as a close second.
Dorthe, PFP guestbook, June 2007.

All the way from Esbjerg I (we) thank you for a really great show last Friday at Amager Bio. It was wonderful to see and hear you again and what a fine jubilee show you gave us, too. From start to finish the sound and musical performance was world class.
Jesper, PFP guestbook, June 2007

The people in the mixed crowd seem hesitant at first, like when you meet someone vaguely familiar but still fell uneasy about greeting to fondly. But eight songs into the three hour set list the audience are swaying hypnotized like balloons on a string.
Jens Lenler, Politiken, April 2007.

The capacity audience got a thorough and professional experience with Pink Floyd Project. The Venue was soaked in a gigantic, dazzling light show, as Pink Floyd Project gave the audience their all in Herning. You often felt like pinching your arm to make sure Pink Floyd’s classic line-up wasn’t onstage. The surround sound system was used to incredible effect, as the room filled up with the sounds of helicopters, cars, machines and telephones.

Bo Lundgaard, Herning Folkeblad, on PFP’s show at Fermaten XL, Herning, February 2007.

PINK FLOYD PROJECT EXHILARATED A SOLD-OUT STØBERIHALLEN. The band consists of 10 members who individually master their instruments to the point of perfection playing the classic songs that remained faithful to the original recordings. […] we had to surrender to Pink Floyd Project. So powerful was the impact of the 10-piece’s collective effort onstage.”

Tim Panduro, Hillerød Posten, on PFP’s show at Støberihallen, Hillerød, February 2007.

Have exhilaration will travel! It’s hard to highlight individual parts of the show, as the entire concert was executed at an extremely high musical level and very authentic, too.”
Erik Nielsen, concert review, Aarup og omegns folkeblad (The Aarup Voice), October 2005.

Herning 2005! Speaking as an Englishman in DK and having been a teenager in London throughout prog rock’s heyday in the 70's, all I have to say is that this was the best gig I’ve seen since Genesis’ "Seconds Out" tour in 76/77! I am fussy and have a personal love for Comfortably Numb. That you even dare play it is rather brave, that you give it a personal touch even braver and making it better than Pink Floyd, quite astounding. Go conquer the world, guys’n’girls!

I want the real thing or nothing at all. This stinks!
One solitary concertgoer in a packed Soenderborghus obviously caught the wrong bus, November 2005.

The Pink Floyd Project were fantastic. They left not only the audience but also the entire stage crew shocked. The music was brilliantly performed, and the audience were in heaven while listening to all the great songs by one of the best bands ever. The Pink Floyd Project are one of the best tribute bands in the entire country, and I’m sure they’ll be back at Langelands Festival.
Preben Quistgaard, program director, Langelands Festival 2005.

“World class harmony!”
The Pink Floyd Project delivered an incredibly well executed, well planned and varied 3½ hour show to an astonished audience. Soaked in great sound and dazzling lights the band took us all for a guided tour all the way through the heterogeneous Floyd universe. This gifted ten piece clearly lives and breathes for the ultimate concert experience.

Carsten Linde, concert review, Fredericia Dagblad (Fredericia Daily), May 2005.

We bow our faces in the dust to your fabulous performance of the music we love. Thank you for a great concert on Dec. 11th 2004. Keep on shining, you crazy diamonds.
Thomas & Jens (taken from the guestbook on www.pinkfloydproject.dk).

It was, to be fair, a wonderful experience! Seven musicians, a lead vocalist and three female singers stretched out in this rock classic [Dark Side Of The Moon] and didn’t leave a dry eye in the house.
L. Steen Deertz, www.kultunaut.dk review on The PFP, Dec. 2003.

Hey You. Thank you is such a hollow phrase, but it covers our fantastic event last Saturday night at Rytmeposten in Odense. “The Great Gig” and “Comfortably Numb” gave me goose skin like if the was “the real band”.
Jimmy (taken from the guestbook at www.pinkfloydproject.dk).

We recently heard the band in action and were mighty impressed with the quality of their performance.

Matt Johns (editor of the prime Floyd-site www.brain-damage.co.uk).

As a northern Dane visiting Copenhagen I went to your show at Operaen on Jan. 9th 2004 on a whim. I must conclude that you gave me an unusual night. Heart warming and tear provoking. Powerful and consolidating.

It’s unbelievable how well that voice matches Barrett’s, Gilmour’s and Waters’.

Finsneren (from www.usandthem.dk).

”It was one of very few concerts I’ve attended that I hoped would never end!”

Sweaty, male concertgoer at Copenhagen Venue ”The Rock”, March 2005.

”Note for note: it was just perfect”.

Sweaty, female, American concertgoer at ”The Rock, March 2005.

I’ve never heard such a beautiful rendition of Hey You. Waters go home! It’s totally out of proportion. You are fantastic, and and and… All right, I’ll try not to make anyone feel uncomfortable, but let me say to everybody on the board: You MUST checkout this band! It was an amazing experience from which I haven’t come down yet.
Andreas (from www.usandthem.dk).

Without doubt the best covers band I’ve heard in my life. Your reputation is well deserved. You complement each other so well, and the singing is particularly fine.

I saw Pink Floyd’s Pulse show in Copenhagen in ’94, and when I went to your show, I had my expectations set so high that they were almost impossible to match. You managed the impossible. Thank you for an unbelievable show last night at Elvaerket in Frederikssund. It was one of the best concerts I’ve attended in many years.

It’s hard not to be impressed with such a perfect concert. I’m even told that The Pink Floyd Project only started gigging in 2003, but the bands musical ambition, talent and pure hearted passion for Pink Floyd turned a dull and rainy Sunday evening into one stellar night of music.
